Weekly change in retail footfall in Germany 2023

In the later weeks of 2023, weekly retail footfall in Germany decreased compared to the same time a year before. While in previous years COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions influenced figures, now it is inflation and subsequently increasing retail prices. In the 39th week of 2023, German retail footfall decreased by around 4.25 percent compared to the same week in 2022.
