As of June 2021, the acquisition of HCC by Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire Insurance was the leading outbound acquisition of Japanese insurers, with a deal value of approximately 941.3 billion Japanese yen. The M&A deal of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and Amlin ranked second, with a value of about 642 billion yen.
