According to a survey conducted in August 2023, overcoming one's insecurities and self-satisfaction were the main reasons for undergoing or being interested in undergoing cosmetic surgeries among both male and female respondents in Japan. Self-satisfaction was also a leading reason for cosmetic surgeries among both genders.
