In 2021, Instagram was the social media app that generated the most downloads in the United States. The photo and video-sharing app had 72 million downloads in the country. WhatsApp was the second most downloaded app, with 63 million downloads. Facebook Messenger ranked third, generating approximately 46 million downloads from users in the country during the examined period.
