The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had a considerable impact on the use of online banking worldwide. As of April 2020, one-third of the online banking customers in China enrolled for the first time because of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. South Korea followed, with 21 percent of the respondents who enrolled in online banking because of the pandemic.
