According to a survey conducted in 2021 among Chinese netizens, almost 70 percent of respondents worried that metaverse might lead to an addiction to the virtual world. Worsening social anxiety in real life was another major concern for metaverse, with nearly a half of respondents saying so. Metaverse is a three dimensional version of internet where users can interact and socialize with an immersive virtual experience.
