In 2023, construction works for around 293.8 thousand housing units were launched in the capital region of Japan. The capital region is comprised of the prefectures of Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, and Chiba. Housing starts decreased in all regions, with Chubu recording the sharpest decline.
