China: expectation level for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games

According to a Chinese survey from March 2021, more than eight out of ten people living in China had a high level of expectation towards the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. This was a high proportion, as the survey was conducted almost a year before the opening of the event. Thanks to this event, winter sports also became more trendy in China, with skiing being the most popular winter sport.

53 percent of the respondents were male, while 47 percent were female.

6.8 percent of respondents were under 18 years of age, 26.7 percent between 18 and 28 years old, 53.4 percent aged between 29 and 50, and 13.1 percent over 50 years old.

46 percent of respondents were from Beijing, 20 percent were from Shandong Province, 19 percent were from Hubei Province, nine percent were from Guangdong province, and six percent were from Shanghai.
