Appreciation of isolation/restraint measures of psychiatric patients France 2021
In France, isolation and restrain measures of acute psychiatric patients are solely under the appreciation of the relevant healthcare providers. According to this survey conducted in April 2021, the full decision power given to healthcare providers is not positively perceived by the French population. This survey revealed that 67 percent of respondents did not believe such conditions to be normal. On the other hand, one out of four respondents thought it to be rather normal that healthcare providers had such a decision power on isolation and restraint measures, and a further seven percent to be absolutely normal.
