Global forest share with long-term management plans 2020, by region
More than half of the world's forests are under management plans. The share of total forest area with long-term management plans is highest in Europe, at 96 percent. On the other hand, South America represents the region with the lowest share of forest area being managed. Nevertheless, the size of forests under management plans increased across all regions over the previous two decades.
