Production volume of soy proteins in Japan 2014-2023
In 2023, the domestic production volume of soy proteins in Japan amounted to around 42.5 thousand tons, representing a decrease from the previous year. Soy proteins processed in Japan include mainly granular and powdered products. They are used as a meat extender in processed meats and can be extruded as a dough in the manufacturing of meat substitutes.
