Production volume of soy proteins in Japan 2013-2022
In 2022, the domestic production volume of soy proteins in Japan amounted to around 43 thousand tons, remaining at a similar level as the previous year. Soy proteins processed in Japan include mainly granular and powdered products. They are used as a meat extender in processed meats and can be extruded as a dough in the manufacturing of meat substitutes.
