MTA: NYC Transit Authority's annual ridership by division 2021

In 2021, around 62.4 percent of the total ridership of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) network was transported by the New York City Subway. During 2021, the NYC underground network reported 759.98 million paid rides, a considerable year-over-year increase of around 19 percent amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The MTA is the corporation responsible for public transit in the New York City metropolitan area. It operates the largest subway system in the U.S., together with commuter rail lines, local and express buses, and a bus rapid transit system.
