Spain: children at risk of poverty by parents' educational level

From the time period of 2015 to 2020, there was a general increase in the percentage of children at risk of poverty or social exclusion by their parents' educational attainment level in Spain. In 2020, 64 percent of children with parents with educational attainment level 0-2 were at risk of poverty.

The collection "People at risk of poverty or social exclusion" hosts main indicator on risk of poverty or social inclusion, AROPE, which is the main indicator to monitor the EU 2030 target on poverty and social exclusion and was the headline indicator to monitor the EU 2020 Strategy poverty target. The collection also includes the three components of AROPE, namely the at-risk-of-poverty (AROP) indicator, persons living in households with very low work intensity (LWI) indicator, and the severe material and social deprivation rate (SMSD).

Levels 0-2: Less than primary, primary and lower secondary education.
Levels 3 and 4: Upper secondary and post-secondary non-tertiary education.
Levels 5-8: Tertiary education.
