As of January 2022, Meta-owned Instagram was the social media platform with the largest year-on-year growth in audience size, with an increase of 21 percent on the previous year. In addition, Pinterest ranked in second place with an audience growth of 21.4 percent and YouTube followed with 11.9 percent. Although Facebook is the most popular social media network in the world, its year-on-year audience growth has slowed to 6.2 percent.
