Quarterly gas storage volume in the UK 2012-2023
The United Kingdom's natural gas storage amounted to some 6.39 terawatts hour (TWh) in April 2023, accounting for nearly 65 percent of its capacity. The UK's quarterly gas storage volume reached a peak in January 2021, with some 13.25 TWh of natural gas in supply, the highest figure registered since 2012. Nevertheless, storage capacities in the UK are notably lower than in other European countries.
