Amount of climate technology start-up unicorns 2020-2021, by sector
Between the second half of 2020 and the first half of 2021, the mobility and transport sector accounted for the majority of climate tech unicorns. Out of the 78 climate tech start-ups that were valued over one billion U.S. dollars in this time period, 43 were mobility and transit oriented. As transport is one of the fastest-growing sources of global emissions, a transition to electric vehicles is underway across the globe.
