Annual operating revenue of the Washington, D.C. transit authority 2012-2022
During the 2022 fiscal year, the operating revenue of the Washington, D.C. transit authority (WMATA) amounted to approximately 264.7 million U.S. dollars, a considerable year-over-year increase of around 85 percent, showing signs of post-pandemic recovery after the revenue plummeted by 75 percent in 2021. WMATA is a tri-jurisdictional government agency responsible for public transit in the Washington metropolitan area. It operates the Washington Metro, a fixed-route bus service (Metrobus), and a paratransit service under the name of MetroAccess.
