Global share of rare earth element consumption for batteries 2016-2021
In 2021, nearly four percent of the global consumption of rare earth elements (REE) was attributable to battery alloy production. This was a large decrease compared to the previous year, when batteries accounted for a nearly eight percent share of the total global consumption of REEs.
