In 2020, around 482 megawatts of renewable energy capacity were added across India under the Renewable Energy Certificates scheme.
As a market-based instrument, Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) mechanism promotes renewable energy and facilitates compliance with renewable purchase obligations (RPO).
