Titles and description length top iOS apps by category 2022

As of February 2022, the highest-ranking apps on the Apple App Store results page presented titles of four words or 21 characters. App subtitles were around four words long, while the average description length presented around 317 words. The food and drink apps that ranked in the first 10 positions on the results page presented shorter titles of around three words, or 18 characters, as well as shorter app descriptions. By comparison, health and fitness apps presented longer subtitles and longer descriptions when compared to the average metric across all examined categories.
