Japan: direct net premiums written by foreign P&C insurers by business class 2022

In the fiscal year 2022, auto insurance accounted for the largest share of direct net premiums written by foreign non-life insurance companies in Japan, amounting to around 211.8 billion Japanese yen. By comparison, compulsory automobile liability insurance (CALI) generated about 13.5 billion yen in direct net premiums.
