Number of public transit incidents in the U.S., by mode 2019-2021

In 2021, the number of incidents reported throughout the public transit networks in the U.S. amounted to almost 16,776 events, 58 percent of which were incidents related to motor buses. During the same year, incidents on heavy rail networks (subway/metro) accounted for nearly 27 percent of the total events.
