Number of public transit incidents in the U.S., by mode 2019-2022

In 2022, the number of incidents reported throughout the public transit networks in the U.S. amounted to almost 20,800 events, 56 percent of which were incidents related to motor buses. During the same year, incidents on heavy rail networks (subway/metro) accounted for nearly 27 percent of the total events.
