Export value of methanol worldwide in 2021, by country
Saudi Arabia is the world's leading exporter country of methanol, also know as methyl alcohol. In 2021, the country exported over 4.5 million metric tons of the compound, with a value of nearly 1.59 billion U.S. dollars. Ranking second was the Trinidad and Tobago, which exported some 1.53 billion U.S. dollars of methyl alcohol. That year, China was the top importing country of methanol worldwide, with an import value that amounted to 3.86 billion U.S. dollars.
