
Reach of ad-supported services and live streaming in the U.S. 2021, by generation
According to a survey conducted in December 2021, 87 percent of respondents aged 18 to 25 years (Gen Z) were ad-supported service users in the United States. In comparison, 64 percent of respondents aged 55 to 64 years watched content on AVOD services. While live streaming was more popular than ad-supported platforms in this age group, AVOD was used more in all other age groups surveyed.
