Supplementary notes

The figures were calculated based on the number of ADA-accessible stations and the total of stations of public transit in the U.S. given by the source.

According to the source, passenger stations are significant structures in a separate right-of-way (ROW). Therefore, agencies may not report a street stop or passenger shelter as a passenger station. Passenger stations typically mean a platform area for rail modes. For buses, a passenger facility in a separate ROW that have an enclosed structure for passengers for such items as ticketing, information, restrooms, concessions, and telephones is a station.

* Others include modes of transit like bus rapid transit, hybrid rail, monorail, trolley bus, and others.
