Leading types of fraud attacks on e-merchants worldwide 2022
In 2022, phishing/pharming/whaling was the most common type of fraud encountered by online merchants worldwide, with 43 percent of survey respondents reporting experiencing this type of attack. Meanwhile, first-party misuse (also known as “friendly fraud”) affected 34 percent of respondents, followed by card testing and identity theft, each impacting a third of the surveyed e-merchants.
