The Beijing Stock Exchange was the latest addition to mainland China's financial industry. In February 2024, over 2.4 billion transactions valuing almost 32 billion yuan were completed. The purpose of the stock exchange was to give SMEs access to capital because these enterprises often do not meet the listing requirements of large exchanges.
