In 2022, over 12 percent of Indonesian women and 13.3 percent of men aged 10 to 24 in Papua attended school and worked at the same time, making the province the one with the highest share of people who have to work and study at the same time. In every province, there were more Indonesian men who had to work and study at the same time. However, the number of Indonesian women who had to do housework and study at the same time was significantly higher than Indonesian men. Until today, housework is still not considered work, despite the fact that it affects women's economic security. The value of work is still determined by the level of income.
