Share of healthcare facilities without electricity access in Africa 2021, by country
Electricity access in healthcare facilities in Sub-Saharan Africa was uneven in 2021. In the Central African Republic, 87 percent of those facilities did not have access to electrical energy. In island countries, such as Mauritius and Madagascar, the share was even higher - 100 percent and 89 percent of healthcare facilities lacked access to electricity in these nations, respectively. On the other hand, only seven percent of health centers in Benin did not have electrical energy, the lowest share in Sub-Saharan Africa.
