The number of construction jobs in the State of New York rose in 2021, but they have not recovered to pre-pandemic levels yet. In 2019, the number of employees in the construction industry peaked at roughly 406,700, while there were 374,700 construction jobs in 2021. There were around 363,100 employees in construction in New York in 2020, which represented the year with fewer employees since 2015.
