Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the weakening economic conditions that came with it certainly had an effect on the common equity tier 1 (CET1) ratio of the EU banking industry. In the third quarter of 2024, there was no significant change in the CET1 ratio compared to the previous quarter, it stood at 16.26 percent. Among selected five European countries, Germany had the highest ratio in the third quarter of 2024.
