Versalis was the largest chemical company in Italy in 2021 based on the number of employees. In that year, Versalis had more than 4,221 employees. P&R group and Mapei Group followed with 2,914 and 2,352 employees, respectively. Most of the chemical companies in Italy had less than 1,000 employees that year.
