Employment rate among the foreign-born in Sweden 2012-2022, by level of education
The foreign-born population in Sweden with a primary or lower secondary level of education had significantly lower employment rates than those with a higher level of education. In 2022, only 37 percent of people in this group were in employment. Meanwhile, those with an upper secondary education had an employment rate of over 65 percent, whereas it was over 75 percent for people with a post secondary education. The unemployment rate for Sweden's foreign-born population with a primary or lower secondary education was close to 40 percent in 2022.
