Bonus payments of employees in South Africa Q1 2019-Q4 2021
As of the fourth quarter of 2021, the aggregated bonus payments made to employees in South Africa reached over 85.6 billion South African rands (around 5.86 billion U.S. dollars). This was an increase from 48.8 billion South African rands (3.34 billion U.S. dollars) in the previous quarter. Bonus payments peaked in the last quarter of 2019 at 89.5 billion South African rands, and were higher during the last quarter of each year. Moreover, the gross earnings of employees in South Africa reached 827 billion South African rands in the last quarter of 2021.
