Number of registered crimes Belgium 2021, by type
In 2021, the most common type of crime registered in Belgium was theft and extortion, of which there were around 224,000 cases registered by the federal police. Furthermore, crimes aginst physical integrity were very common, as around 74,500 crimes were reported. Property damage, public health and fraud crimes were also among the most prevalent, each registering over 60,000 cases.
