Opinion on political models that would be good to govern France 2018, by age group
Overall, the French, especially young people, are relatively open to other ways and principles of organizing power. In 2018, three out of four people under 35 years old considered that a model in which citizens, not the government, decide what is best for the country would be a good way to govern it. They were also the most likely to accept the possibility of authoritarian leadership: 38 percent thought it would be good for their country to have a strongman in charge who does not worry about parliament or elections.
