Value of mineral fuel and mineral oil imports in Africa 2022
As of 2022, South Africa was the leading importer of mineral fuels and oils in Africa. The country imported around 25.5 billion U.S. dollars of these products, which included distilled mineral products, bituminous substances, and mineral waxes. Nigeria and Morocco followed with roughly 23.9 billion and 15.1 billion U.S. dollars of imports, respectively. Overall, the continent exports more mineral fuels and oils than it imports.
