In 2022, there were roughly 372,000 housing starts in France, most of which were destined for acquisition. However, the number of residential buildings is expected to be lower in 2023 and 2024. The amount of new home construction projects for private rental has been halved between 2006 and 2022, and its relevance is expected to keep decreasing in the coming years.
