Apple apps' usage share worldwide by category 2021

Between July 2020 and June 2021, iOS users in the United States engaged by over 40 percent with native communication apps, while the remaining 60 percent usage share went to third-party mobile apps in the same category. By comparison, only three percent of app usage in the mobile streaming and TV apps category was occupied by Apple apps, making third-party streaming apps the most used by far in this category. Apple music apps saw a share of 55 percent usage in Japan, with third-party music apps in this specific market occupying the smaller share among iOS users in the country.
