New car registrations by leading powertrain in the EU 2022

At nearly 3.4 million new registrations, petrol internal combustion engines were the most popular powertrain in the European Union in 2022, followed by hybrid electric and diesel powertrains. By contrast, natural gas vehicles were less popular.
