
U.S. adults on purchasing apparel for a metaverse avatar 2022, by generation
According to a survey conducted in the United States in March 2022, over half of all responding online users said that they would not be interested in purchasing virtual apparel for an avatar in the metaverse. Millennials reported they were the most likely to buy virtual apparel for their avatar, with 24 percent saying they were very interested in the idea. Overall, three-quarters of Baby Boomers were not at all interested in the idea, as well as 52 percent of Gen Z, and 36 percent of Gen Z.
