Investment opportunities for nature-based solutions and land-sparing interventions, two forms of environmentally friendly urban development, have the potential to amount to nearly 600 billion U.S. dollars in cities worldwide by 2030. While investments in nature-based solutions amounted to only 28 billion U.S. dollars in 2021, this figure has the potential to rise to 113 billion U.S. dollars by 2030.
