Distribution of economically independent aged persons urban India 2004-2018

In India, the share of elderly who were economically independent and who were supporting at least one member in the household was 48 percent in from 2017 to 2018 in the urban areas. In 2004, by contrast, the share was lower with 34 percent who were economicaly independent and supporting at least one household member.
