Worldwide consumer preference for a new video streaming service model 2022
In early 2022, consumers worldwide were asked what type of service they would favor for video streaming. The majority of respondents in all surveyed countries revealed that they either preferred having advertisements and no fees or having no advertisement and a "full" monthly fee. In detail, the no-monthly-fee option was the favorite one in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan, whereas the no-advertisement option was preferred in the United States and Brazil. A third hybrid model with reduced advertisement time and reduced fees was the least preferred in all five countries.
