Copenhagen: persons in risk of poverty

The at-risk-of-poverty rate in Copenhagen fluctuated between 23.5 and 24.8 percent between 2011 and 2021. This means that nearly one quarter of Copenhagen's population had an income lower than 60 percent of the median income. By comparison, the rate was 14.2 percent for all of Denmark in 2020, but there are clear variations between people of different backgrounds.

The at-risk-of-poverty rate shows the share of people who have an equivalized disposable income below the at-risk-of-poverty threshold. The threshold is 60 % of the median income after tax and social transfers.

The data differ somewhat from those given by Eurostat and OECD due to different income definitions.
