Only 1,403 asylums were granted in Denmark in 2022. Of these, more than 420 were granted to people from Afghanistan, which made up the largest single group of asylum seekers with a successful application in 2022. With approximately 290, Syrians made up the second largest group, followed by Congolese. The total number of asylums granted in Denmark has decreased significantly since the peak in 2015.
