For the fiscal year of 2018, the United States district courts prosecuted 84,838 crimes. 35,644 of these crimes were immigration related crimes, for which undocumented non-U.S. citizens were almost exclusively prosecuted. U.S citizens were the most frequently prosecuted in all other categories.
