As part of the Fit for 55 package, FuelEU Maritime regulations will help reduce the greenhouse gas intensity of fuels used by the ships calling at European ports over the coming decades. By 2025, the average carbon intensity of the shipping sector will need to reduce by two percent, compared to the 2020 average, rising to 80 percent by 2050.
