Supplementary notes

The WorldRiskIndex (WRI) 2022 is based on a total of 100 indicators, which evaluate exposure and vulnerability, susceptibilities, adaptative and coping capacities.
Countries are classified as follows: WRI (0.00 - 1.84) = very low risk; WRI (1.85 - 3.20) = low risk risk; WRI (3.21 - 5.87) = medium risk; WRI (5.88 - 12.88) = high risk; WRI (12.89 - 100.00) = very high risk;

The source adds the following: "the WorldRiskIndex provides an assessment of the risk of countries to be confronted with disasters resulting from extreme natural events. It does not, however, indicate probabilities for the emergence of disasters, nor does it forecast the timing of future disasters".
