The number of patient visits to Chinese cancer hospitals and oncology wards increased significantly in the past decade, with notable differences between regions. In 2021, oncology wards in eastern China saw almost 30 million patient visits, more than the number of patient visits in the central and western regions combined. Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Henan were the provinces with the highest number of patient visits to oncology wards.
